"Speed provides what to see. It does not simply allow you to arrive at
your destination more quickly, it also gives you something to see and
think about" (Paul Virilio)
In these routes... there aren't even any destinations to reach. They
are the consequence of video experimentation with speed.
We could say that speed is not a phenomenon, but rather the
relationship of phenomena, relativity itself; in this case, we
consider it a circular means, between "object" and subject, to percive
environment using a revolving digital video camara.
These videos are conceived and produced as an approach to film
structuralism in order to videographically record those "malfunctions"
of light at various speeds that a (human) observer cannot detect. The
visual result is an accumulation of moving textures that disorientate
and make dizzy, that flow and escape, that hypnotise.

“Snelheid bepaald wat je ziet. Het laat niet toe om eenvoudigweg sneller op je plaats van bestemming aan te komen, maar geeft je ook iets om er over na te denken” (Paul Virilio)
Op Gimeno’s wegen zijn echter geen bestemmingen te bereiken. Ze zijn het resultaat van video experimenten met snelheid. We zouden kunnen zeggen dat snelheid niet een fenomeen op zichzelf is maar eerder de relatie van fenomenen in haar relativiteit. In dit geval bedoelen we een circulaire relatie tussen het object en het onderwerp, om de omgeving te vatten met een ronddraaiende digitale videocamera. Deze videografische opname legt de structuur van het disfunctioneren van het licht tijdens de verschillende snelheden vast, hetgeen het menselijk oog niet waarneemt.
Het resultaat is een visueel effect dat de toeschouwer duizelig maakt, het vliegt en ontsnapt en hypnotiseert.
Verlies de rode bal niet uit het oog.
